Van Dam introduces the next generation color heads at Interpack for photographic print quality

During Interpack 2011 Van Dam introduces the new generation color heads. A particular technological development, ensuring a consistent photographic print quality. In addition, with the new machines of Van Dam it is easier to manage the entire chain of dry offset printing.

New developments

Van Dam is an innovative company that follows closely any development that can affect the print quality on rigid plastic packaging. The introduction of laser engraved plates ensured that Van Dam examined her color heads. The result is a new generation of color heads who constant deliver photographic print quality.
Harrie van Dijk, Engineering Manager: "The laser engraved sheets can handle pictures with very fine shadow effects. We wanted the Van Dam machines to be able to transfer this quality on a product. That is why we have developed these very rigid and stable color heads. "

Stability

The color head is a precision mechanism and the most important part of the dry offset printing machines. The better the color head is adjusted, the more stable the roles are the better the result. That stability in the color head is very important. If the temperature changes adjustments are required to the roller pressure. The operator will need to adjust the color head to monitor the quality of the print. An operator needs to know the behaviour of the machine he is working with well to get the best results.

Quality is reproducible

Van Dam is now building a generation of machines that partially take over the work of the operator. This can be achieved by the build-in intelligence (FLT). The machine searches for the ideal settings and stores this data in its memory. FLT automatically adjusts the roller pressure when the circumstances during the printing process change.  For a new run the operator easily retrieves these settings making print quality reproducible.

At Interpack 2011, Van Dam shows that by managing the chain dry offset printing is an excellent option in addition to other more expensive decoration techniques.  Visit Van Dam at booth number: 11E66
